Motivating Classroom Environments

Dornyei (2007) rightfully states that “sustained learning—such as the acquisition of an L2—cannot take place unless the educational context provides, in addition to cognitively adequate instructional practices, sufficient inspiration and enjoyment to build up continuing motivation in the learners” (p. 719). This requires second language teachers to go out of their way and think outside the box to make learning a more interesting and enjoyable endeavor for learners.
